THE PERFECT POUT IS JUST A TATTOO AWAY
Lip blush is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo designed to enhance the natural shape, colour, and symmetry of your lips. Unlike traditional permanent makeup, lip blush uses modern pigment technology and soft shading techniques to create a natural, sheer tint that mimics the look of a lip tint or balm.
It corrects uneven tone, defines the vermillion border (lip line), and adds a youthful, healthy flush to the lips.
This treatment is perfect for those with pale lips, pigmentation, asymmetry, or anyone wanting to reduce their daily makeup routine.
Over time, the pigment fades gradually, allowing for touch-ups or colour changes as your style evolves.
Neutralisation is a specialised technique used to correct cool, dark, or uneven lip tones—common in individuals with melanin-rich skin or past trauma to the lips.
Instead of applying your desired colour straight away, we first use warm, corrective pigments (like peach or orange) to counteract blue, purple, or grey undertones.
Once the lips have healed from the neutralisation phase, we can layer your chosen lip blush colour in a follow-up session.
This is a gradual process that may take multiple sessions, but it leads to a more even, flattering, and long-lasting result. Neutralisation requires advanced training and colour theory knowledge, so always choose an artist experienced in treating diverse skin tones.
It is very common for neutralisation clients to experience hyperpigmentation for 1-2 weeks post appointment and will begin to lighten from 4 weeks post lip blush. Trust the process.
Lip blush offers both cosmetic and corrective benefits, making it one of the most popular treatments in modern cosmetic tattooing:
Enhances natural lip colour—great for pale, faded, or ageing lips
Defines the lip shape and border without the need for lip liner
Adds the illusion of fullness—a more youthful look without filler
Corrects asymmetry and uneven pigmentation
Neutralises dark or cool-toned lips (especially common in melanin-rich skin)
Reduces the need for daily lipstick or makeup touch-ups
Heals into a soft, natural-looking tint that fades gradually over time
Boosts confidence—clients often feel they can go makeup-free after treatment
Yes—your colour is completely customised to suit your individual skin tone, natural lip shade, and personal preferences.
During your consultation, we’ll discuss your desired outcome and select from a wide range of high-quality pigments—from soft pinks and warm peaches to rich nudes or berry tones.
Whether you want a barely-there flush or a more defined pop of colour, we’ll create a shade that enhances your natural beauty and heals beautifully on your lips. We also take into account how the pigment will fade over time, ensuring your final result remains soft and flattering.
Lip blush is a multi-stage process, typically requiring two sessions to achieve optimal results:
Initial Session – We map, shape, and build the base layer of pigment. The lips will appear more vibrant at first, then soften as they heal.
Perfecting Session (6–8 weeks later) – This is essential to refine the shape, boost colour retention, and make any adjustments based on how your skin has healed.
Some clients—particularly those needing neutralisation or with melanin-rich lips—may need a third session to reach their desired result. Pigment retention varies from person to person, depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare.
Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but most clients find lip blush to be very manageable.
We apply a high-strength, medical-grade topical anaesthetic before and during the procedure to minimise discomfort. You may feel a light scratching or tickling sensation, but it should not be painful.
Some areas may be more sensitive than others, particularly if you’re menstruating, fatigued, or haven’t eaten beforehand—so arriving well-rested, hydrated, and nourished helps. If you're nervous, we’ll go at a pace that makes you feel safe and comfortable.
Yes! In fact, lip blush and filler often work beautifully together.
Filler enhances volume and structure, while lip blush enhances colour and definition—together they create fuller, more youthful-looking lips.
That said, it’s important to wait at least 4 weeks after getting lip filler before undergoing lip blush. This allows the filler to fully settle and ensures we’re working with your true lip shape. If you plan on getting filler after lip blush, wait until your tattoo has fully healed (about 6 weeks).
The healing process usually takes 5 days, with full pigment development settling by weeks 4–6. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect:
Day 1–2: Lips appear bold and vibrant. Some mild swelling or tightness is normal.
Day 3–5: Peeling begins. The lips will flake and scab lightly. Do not pick or peel.
Day 6–10: Peeling finishes. The colour may look patchy or faded—this is normal.
Week 2–4: Skin regenerates beneath the surface and the pigment slowly resurfaces.
Week 6: Final healed result appears—soft, smooth, and natural.
Following aftercare instructions is crucial for optimal healing and retention. This includes keeping lips clean, avoiding sun exposure, staying hydrated, and applying healing balm as directed.
